Responsibilities
- Design, build, and scale backend services and frontend components for high-traffic workloads.
- Lead architectural improvements and code reviews while ensuring system efficiency, visibility, and operational health.
- Partner with product managers and experience designers to plan projects, manage dependencies, and mitigate technical risks.
- Break down complex problems and influence the team roadmap and technical direction.
- Mentor colleagues and participate in the engineering hiring process.
Requirements
- Significant experience building web-based applications in a modern technology stack.
- Experience with Go, Ruby, Python, and Scala, with willingness to work across these technologies.
- Ability to design and operate web architecture at scale, including systems with significant request volumes.
- Experience owning relational databases such as PostgreSQL and MySQL.
- Experience with NoSQL backends such as Redis, DynamoDB, or Elasticsearch.
- Commitment to writing readable, well-designed, and thoroughly tested code.
- Strong collaborative leadership skills and experience guiding implementation decisions and supporting teammate growth.
