Base Salary
$113k - $183k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and develop backend API web services for Caterpillar’s digital platform.
- Lead development of new functionality and applications on cross-functional project teams.
- Oversee and mentor developers, conduct code reviews, and provide technical guidance.
- Resolve complex application and technical problems.
- Establish software quality practices and guide application, operations, and user documentation.
- Deploy and maintain software on public cloud platforms.
Requirements
- Experience developing software with Java 17 or higher and Spring Boot RESTful APIs.
- Experience deploying and maintaining software using public clouds such as AWS or Azure.
- Experience with message streaming solutions such as AWS Kinesis, AWS SQS, AWS SNS, Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, Apache ActiveMQ, or Azure Event Hub.
- Experience with datastores such as AWS Aurora, AWS RDS, AWS DynamoDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, Elasticsearch, MongoDB, Cassandra, or Redis.
- Experience deploying software with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or GoCD.
- Knowledge of software development, software product design and architecture, decision-making, critical thinking, and effective communication.
- Experience working within an Agile framework, ideally Scrum.
