Responsibilities
- Design, build, test, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs for the advertiser portal and third-party integrations.
- Develop reusable capabilities for a unified advertising platform across multiple advertising products.
- Own features and services from design and implementation through deployment and operational support.
- Contribute to system design, low-level design, API design including GraphQL, and data modeling.
- Build customer-facing features with primarily backend work and some React frontend development.
- Improve scalability, performance, reliability, monitoring, observability, and automation for high-traffic systems.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, operations, and globally distributed teams to translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Troubleshoot production issues, write secure and well-tested code, participate in code reviews, and apply engineering best practices.
- Use AI-enabled solutions and AI-assisted development tools to improve developer productivity and product outcomes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 5 years of software development experience building and supporting production systems and services.
- Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and core computer science fundamentals.
- Experience owning software components or services through implementation, testing, deployment, and operational support.
- Experience designing and building scalable backend systems and APIs.
- Expertise in Java or Kotlin and familiarity with React.
- Experience with API design and consumption, including REST and/or GraphQL.
- Ability to work across multiple technical systems or services, debug issues, and deliver maintainable solutions.
- Preferred experience with advertising technology, marketplaces, or high-scale distributed systems.
- Preferred experience with event streaming or messaging systems such as Flink or Kafka.
- Preferred experience contributing to architecture and design discussions for services, APIs, and data models.
- Preferred experience improving service quality through performance tuning, observability, and automation.
- Preferred familiarity with AI-driven systems or AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude.
- Preferred experience building customer-facing features, including frontend development with React.
- Ability to collaborate effectively, demonstrate ownership, and solve complex problems in a high-impact business area.
