Responsibilities

  • Build and enhance intelligent monitoring, alerting, reliability testing, anomaly detection, and automated remediation capabilities.
  • Implement observability practices covering metrics, logs, traces, dashboards, telemetry, and actionable alerting.
  • Design and pilot machine learning-based anomaly detection, predictive operations, self-healing solutions, and human-in-the-loop workflows.
  • Automate operational workflows and platform tasks using Ansible, GitHub Actions, Bash, Python, PowerShell, and custom tooling.
  • Define, track, and improve SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, alerting strategies, and service health indicators.
  • Partner with development, infrastructure, platform, and support teams on production readiness, reliability, monitoring, and release risks.
  • Lead or contribute to incident management, problem management, root cause analysis, production troubleshooting, and corrective actions.
  • Support business-critical production systems through deployments, senior operational support, and an on-call rotation.
  • Continuously simplify, automate, and modernize operations using engineering and AI-driven approaches.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, Production Engineering, DevOps, Platform Engineering, or Systems Engineering roles with strong operational depth.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong experience with infrastructure automation and configuration management, particularly Ansible.
  • Strong scripting and automation skills in Bash, Python, PowerShell, or similar languages.
  • Hands-on experience with reliability and observability tools such as Elasticsearch, Dynatrace, GitHub, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Kafka, PagerDuty, and Moogsoft or related platforms.
  • Strong understanding of production operations, incident management, root cause analysis, reliability engineering, SLIs, SLOs, alerting, and service health metrics.
  • Knowledge of cloud-native and distributed systems concepts including resiliency, scalability, fault isolation, and performance tuning.
  • Understanding of AIOps, AI/ML concepts, or intelligent automation applied to observability and operations.
  • Ability to collaborate across teams, influence engineering practices, and communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Preferred experience includes financial services or other regulated environments, OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, Catchpoint, Azure Automation, Jenkins, Artifactory, Vault, Docker, anomaly detection, self-healing automation, AI governance, chaos engineering, and resilience validation.
