Base Salary
$124k - $150k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, code, troubleshoot, and maintain secure and scalable software components.
- Write high-quality Python and other software code with limited guidance.
- Use authorized AI-assisted development and automation tools while validating outputs through peer review, automated testing, and secure coding standards.
- Apply observability practices including monitoring, service-level objective alerting, and telemetry collection.
- Analyze large and diverse datasets to identify problems and support secure, stable application development.
- Consider upstream and downstream systems and technical implications when implementing solutions.
- Apply software development life cycle tools and resolve technical problems of basic complexity.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 2+ years of applied experience.
- Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining Python code in a large corporate environment, along with one or more modern programming and database querying languages.
- Experience with observability, including white- and black-box monitoring, service-level objective alerting, and telemetry collection.
- Understanding of SLI, SLO, SLA, error budgets, responsible AI use, secure handling of data, resiliency, and security expectations.
- Experience across the full software development life cycle.
- Exposure to application resiliency, security, and continuous integration and delivery practices.
- Preferred: experience building data pipelines with Spark.
- Preferred: exposure to AWS and Databricks platform administration.
- Preferred: knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and container orchestration.
