Responsibilities
- Design, build, and execute performance, load, stress, endurance, and soak tests for enterprise applications.
- Create workload models and performance test scenarios using JMeter.
- Monitor application performance, system resources, databases, servers, and end-to-end transaction flows using Dynatrace and other APM tools.
- Analyze test results and metrics to diagnose bottlenecks, memory leaks, latency issues, and throughput constraints.
- Perform root cause analysis and provide actionable recommendations to architecture and development teams.
- Develop custom code and virtual services with Mountebank to enhance testing and remove backend or third-party dependencies.
- Integrate performance testing scripts and monitoring checks into deployment pipelines for continuous performance validation.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and continuous performance improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of hands-on performance testing and engineering experience using JMeter and APM tools.
- At least 4 years of experience with Apache JMeter.
- Proficiency in scripting and developing custom code for performance testing scripts and scenarios.
- Strong knowledge of non-functional requirements gathering, workload modeling, and performance root cause analysis.
- Experience with Azure, Docker, ECS, Kubernetes, MySQL, Java, Python, and Splunk or comparable technologies.
- Strong Linux fundamentals and experience diagnosing system utilization.
- Experience with large-scale distributed systems and large data volumes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience developing virtual services using Mountebank.
- Preferred experience with Chaos Engineering, observability, SRE transition work, or the banking domain.
Benefits
- Base salary of CAD 75,000–95,000 per year, plus eligibility for a discretionary annual performance-based bonus and wellbeing benefits.
