Responsibilities
- Develop code using Java, Spring, and NoSQL technologies.
- Solve complex technical problems using current technologies and software development best practices.
- Propose and compare alternative technical solutions and explain the rationale for selecting one approach.
- Ensure that technical designs are correctly incorporated into implementations.
- Contribute technical expertise across projects as required.
- Define solutions from high-level business ideas and translate broad requirements into technical implementations.
- Describe non-functional requirements and address scalability, security, maintainability, capacity, and performance.
- Mentor and guide development team members.
- Communicate and drive complex technology solutions with audiences inside and outside IT.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of Java/J2EE development experience is required.
- Experience with Java, J2EE, Spring Boot, web services, SOAP, and REST is required; Spring WebFlux and reactive programming experience is strongly preferred.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience building microservices with REST and SOAP/XML is required.
- At least 5 years of experience with NoSQL and relational database technologies, including MongoDB, Cassandra, Oracle, and SQL Server, as well as DML, DDL, and query optimization.
- At least 5 years of systems integration experience, including event-based messaging, high-volume real-time streaming, Kafka, RabbitMQ, Spark, and ETL integration.
- Experience with containers, Docker, Kubernetes, and Microsoft Azure is strongly preferred.
- Experience with in-memory datastores or caches such as Redis or MemCache is strongly preferred.
- Significant experience with the full software development lifecycle, software development methodologies, capacity planning, systems performance analysis, distributed client/server environments, and resilient active/active systems is preferred.
- Strong analysis, design, programming, problem-solving, decision-making, organizational, communication, and collaboration skills are required.
- Experience building consumer-facing solutions and applications in the public cloud is required.
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, or a related technical field is preferred, or equivalent practical experience.
