Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain full-stack software for connected neuromodulation products across Angular and TypeScript user experiences, .NET mobile and application layers, backend services, APIs, data persistence, and device interfaces.
- Own product features throughout the lifecycle, including requirements analysis, technical design, implementation, code review, integration, verification, release, monitoring, field support, and maintenance.
- Develop clean, secure, maintainable, and observable software with unit, component, integration, and automated regression coverage for an IEC 62304 Class C environment.
- Integrate software across user interfaces, mobile and application components, backend services, embedded devices, firmware, cloud capabilities, and hardware or simulated environments.
- Use approved AI copilots, large language models, and agentic workflows for design exploration, implementation, debugging, documentation, code understanding, and automated verification while preserving human review and accountability.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with software, systems, firmware, hardware, cybersecurity, quality, regulatory, clinical, and product teams.
- Support continuous learning and improvement while developing expertise in SCS, DBS, implantable systems, connected medical devices, and regulated software development.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, another relevant engineering discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least 5 years of professional software development experience delivering reliable applications or connected products.
- Hands-on full-stack experience with C#, .NET, Angular, TypeScript or JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, including user-interface architecture, application services, APIs, data persistence, and software-component integration.
- Working knowledge of one or more additional languages such as C, C++, Java, or Python.
- Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, modular architecture, design patterns, debugging, multithreading or asynchronous programming, secure coding, and maintainable software design.
- Experience delivering complex algorithms and product features on mobile or connected platforms using RESTful or gRPC services, protocol-based interfaces, relational or embedded databases, Git, and automated build and deployment pipelines.
- Experience with requirements analysis, technical design and documentation, automated verification, peer reviews, CI/CD practices, observability, traceability, and defect investigation and correction.
- Experience developing Class III medical devices, Software as a Medical Device, digital health products, active implantable systems, regulated products, safety-critical products, or high-reliability products is preferred.
- Experience with SCS, DBS, neuromodulation, Bluetooth Low Energy, connectivity, sensors, sensor fusion, embedded systems, device simulators, cloud services, or hardware-in-the-loop environments is preferred.
- Familiarity with IEC 62304 Class C, ISO 14971, ISO 13485, FDA design controls, security architecture, authentication, cybersecurity expectations, requirements traceability, and verification evidence is preferred.
- A master’s degree or other advanced education, Android or iOS development, touch-based user interfaces, and experience with AI-enabled development tools are preferred.
