Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate large-scale data platform capabilities across Azure and GCP.
- Engineer the Databricks platform, including workspace lifecycle management, infrastructure automation, governance, and platform reliability.
- Build and maintain services, tooling, and infrastructure for reliable data ingestion, processing, sharing, and discovery.
- Implement Infrastructure-as-Code, CI/CD automation, observability, and automated testing practices.
- Partner with AI/ML, product, and engineering teams to enable data-driven and AI-powered product capabilities.
- Use AI-assisted development tools and agentic coding workflows while reviewing generated code for correctness, maintainability, security, and architectural consistency.
- Troubleshoot production issues, identify root causes, and implement preventative solutions that improve reliability and customer experience.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 5 years of relevant industry experience building and operating production software systems.
- Experience designing and supporting large-scale data platforms or distributed systems in cloud environments.
- Strong Python programming skills for production-grade backend services and platform tooling.
- Strong SQL skills and understanding of data modeling, query optimization, and large-scale data processing.
- Knowledge of Databricks, Unity Catalog, Delta Lake, Delta Sharing, Structured Streaming, data governance, data lineage, and enterprise-scale data management.
- Experience developing REST APIs using FastAPI, Flask, or similar frameworks.
- Experience with Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, and modern software engineering practices.
- Strong understanding of Azure, GCP, or AWS.
- Comfort using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or Cursor, with the ability to accelerate software delivery through automation.
- Strong communication, collaboration, ownership, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to work independently in ambiguous environments.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with multi-tenant SaaS data platforms, event-driven architectures, Kafka, streaming platforms, real-time data processing, platform observability, cost optimization, governance at scale, or supply chain, planning, analytics, and enterprise SaaS domains.
