Responsibilities
- Develop, review, execute, and maintain system, integration, functional, and regression test cases.
- Build and maintain automated test solutions using Python.
- Perform hands-on testing of network management applications, network infrastructure, APIs, databases, containers, and distributed system components.
- Validate network configuration and management functionality using NETCONF, gNMI, IP networking, routing, VLANs, and automated device configuration.
- Document and track software defects, reproduce issues, verify fixes, and collaborate with development, networking, systems, and integration teams.
- Troubleshoot networks and applications using packet captures, traffic generators, logs, and diagnostic tools.
- Verify that products meet technical, functional, performance, operational, and business requirements.
- Document test results, defects, findings, and supporting evidence in test management and issue-tracking tools.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8+ years of relevant industry experience in software, system, integration, or network testing.
- Strong hands-on experience testing network management applications and developing test automation with Python.
- Hands-on knowledge of NETCONF and gNMI, IP networking, TCP, UDP, VLANs, routing, the OSI model, and routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, and IS-IS.
- Experience with routers, switches, networked systems, Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, containers, and virtualized application environments.
- Experience with network troubleshooting and traffic analysis tools such as tcpdump, iPerf, Spirent, IXIA, or similar tools.
- Experience with JSON, XML, YAML, Protobuf, REST APIs, and relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
- Ability to work in Canada and obtain clearance under the Canadian Controlled Goods Program.
- Preferred experience with YANG, gNOI, Ansible, Kafka, Zephyr, Jira, or comparable tools.
- CCNA, CCNP, or comparable networking certification is preferred.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, independent-work, and collaboration skills.
