Base Salary

$172k - $229k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Architect, build, and maintain the integration and data platform supporting external systems and integrations.
  • Lead technical decisions across the stack with attention to performance, maintainability, scalability, and developer experience.
  • Design and optimize APIs and service patterns for product experiences and third-party integrations.
  • Improve database design, query performance, and data models for efficient storage and retrieval at scale.
  • Drive observability and operational excellence through logging, monitoring, tracing, alerting, and performance analysis.
  • Lead engineering-wide initiatives that improve customer experience, system performance, productivity, and knowledge sharing.
  • Evaluate and introduce technologies, patterns, and tooling that improve engineering efficiency and platform quality.
  • Define and reinforce testing practices across the stack with QA and engineering teams.
  • Mentor engineers through design reviews, architecture discussions, pair programming, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
  • Influence multiple engineering groups through technical leadership and cross-functional collaboration.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of software engineering experience, including deep experience with modern JavaScript and TypeScript environments and leading large technical initiatives.
  • Experience with workflows and data platforms, including data integrity, reconciliation, system quality, resilience, and reliability.
  • Production experience with Node.js, GraphQL, RESTful services, PostgreSQL, and Temporal.
  • Strong proficiency with SQL databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL, including schema design and query optimization.
  • Experience with event-driven systems, messaging infrastructure, and real-time data processing.
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and modern cloud infrastructure across AWS, GCP, or similar environments.
  • Understanding of automated testing and scalable deployment practices.
  • Track record of mentoring engineers and raising technical standards through influence and execution.
  • Strong communication and technical writing skills for aligning engineering and cross-functional partners.
  • Experience with large enterprise platforms, including ERP and CRM systems, is preferred.
  • Experience leading initiatives involving platformization, service architecture, APIs, or financial and accounting systems is preferred.
  • An advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
