Base Salary
$207k - $300k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable core components for version control systems, including the open-source jj (Jujutsu) project.
- Partner with teams building code review platforms, code search, and AI-enabled developer tools to deliver integrated workflows.
- Facilitate alignment across teams on goals, outcomes, and timelines.
- Influence and coach a distributed team of engineers.
- Grow and sustain open-source communities around jj and Git and collaborate with the broader industry.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience programming in C++, Java, Python, Kotlin, or Go.
- 5 years of experience testing and launching software products.
- 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
- Experience integrating generative AI tools or LLM interfaces into workflows.
- Preferred: master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Preferred: experience with operating system internals in Linux or macOS and file system design.
- Preferred: experience integrating agents and AI into team products or processes.
- Preferred: expertise in C++ or Rust in a large-scale production environment.
- Preferred: familiarity with version control systems such as Git, Mercurial, or jj beyond basic usage.
- Preferred: significant contributions to high-profile open-source projects.
