Base Salary
$113k - $183k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain backend APIs and microservices using Java, Spring Boot, and AWS.
- Collaborate with product owners, UI teams, architects, and partner engineering teams to deliver secure and scalable solutions.
- Define API contracts, payload schemas, and OpenAPI/Swagger documentation.
- Implement service integrations using OAuth 2.0, JWT, and enterprise authentication and authorization services.
- Lead feature implementation and delivery of business capabilities.
- Mentor software engineers through technical guidance, code reviews, and engineering best practices.
- Resolve application, integration, performance, and production support issues.
- Develop automated unit, integration, and performance tests.
- Contribute to CI/CD automation, deployment, observability, monitoring, and operational excellence.
- Own software delivery throughout the development lifecycle, including documentation, deployment, and production support.
Requirements
- Strong experience developing backend APIs and microservices with Java 21 or later, Spring Boot, an API gateway such as Apigee, and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience implementing secure integrations with OAuth 2.0 and JWT.
- Experience with event-driven architectures and messaging technologies such as Kafka, AWS SQS, AWS SNS, AWS Kinesis, or RabbitMQ.
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases including Aurora, DynamoDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, MongoDB, Redis, or Elasticsearch.
- Experience developing automated unit, integration, and performance tests and deploying applications with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GoCD, or GitHub Actions.
- Knowledge of software development, product design and architecture, decision-making, and effective communication.
- Experience collaborating across engineering, product, business, and stakeholder teams in Agile/Scrum environments.
