Responsibilities
- Lead the design of high-performance distributed systems capable of handling global traffic.
- Develop and refine backend services to improve scalability and efficiency.
- Drive the transition toward service-oriented architecture for greater modularity and resilience.
- Enforce code quality through SOLID principles, design patterns, testing standards, and deep code reviews.
- Coach mid-level engineers through technical knowledge sharing and mentorship.
- Identify service bottlenecks and implement advanced caching and database strategies.
- Partner with Product and DevOps to translate requirements into scalable technical roadmaps.
- Participate in the on-call rotation to maintain 24/7 service reliability.
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional backend development experience with deep PHP expertise.
- 4+ years of experience building enterprise-grade applications with Laravel or an equivalent senior background in Symfony.
- Mastery of distributed systems, event-driven architecture, and messaging patterns such as SQS or Pub/Sub.
- Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases, including performance tuning and transactions at scale.
- Experience architecting on AWS and managing containerized environments with Docker.
- Commitment to clean code, automated testing, and CI/CD best practices.
- Ability to use, prompt, validate, and iterate with AI tools during technical work.
- Fluent English communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical trade-offs.
- Experience with SaaS/PaaS, SOA, or microservices architecture is a bonus.
- Experience with eSIM or GSMA technologies is a bonus.
- Familiarity with Traveltech solutions is a bonus.
- Experience building or maintaining custom SDKs is a bonus.
