Base Salary
$100k - $167k/yr
Responsibilities
- Maintain existing backend order-management applications and help build the next-generation trading platform.
- Design, develop, optimize, and implement scalable and reliable software solutions.
- Collaborate with product teams, architects, central technology functions, and wider stakeholders on software design and delivery.
- Produce expert-quality code, conduct code reviews and refactoring, and ensure robust software throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Address low-latency development challenges and maintain up-to-date expertise in relevant technologies and industry trends.
- Communicate complex technical information clearly and contribute to an inclusive, collaborative engineering culture.
Requirements
- Financial-industry experience building buy-side or sell-side trading systems.
- More than 5 years of software engineering experience as an individual contributor.
- Strong Java fundamentals, including JVM concepts, multithreading, collections, and I/O.
- Strong experience with Java technology stacks, API development, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Strong understanding of system architecture, design, clean code, unit testing, code review, and refactoring.
- Knowledge of SOLID, DRY, and Law of Demeter software engineering principles.
- Experience with Git, Gradle or Maven, Linux or Unix, and relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
- Understanding of low-latency development techniques and distributed systems challenges.
- Familiarity with Agile methodology and practical experience with TDD and CI/CD practices.
- Experience with Spring, Spring Boot, Redis, and Apache Kafka is desirable.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, ideally Microsoft Azure, is desirable.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or an equivalent software engineering qualification.
- Strong verbal and written communication, problem-solving, critical-thinking, and collaboration skills.

- Anticipated base salary of $100,200-$167,000, varying by geographic location, city, and state, plus eligibility for the Annual Incentive Plan.
