Base Salary
$205k - $231k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own features end to end from design through implementation, rollout, and iteration in partnership with Product Management and other Chainguard teams.
- Design, build, and evolve Go backend systems and REST/gRPC APIs for entitlement, policy, and customer onboarding services.
- Act as the primary technical interface between Customer Platform and the Containers, Libraries, and OS packages engineering teams.
- Extend Chainguard’s agentic AI foundation into customer-facing product experiences.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to senior and mid-level engineers.
- Help the team resolve ambiguity, prioritize tradeoffs, and ship toward clear product outcomes.
Requirements
- Production experience with Go.
- Strong experience designing, shipping, and operating API and backend systems at scale.
- Experience aligning multiple engineering teams on technical standards, integration patterns, and shared infrastructure.
- Ability to operate independently in ambiguous situations by developing diagnoses, recommendations, and paths forward.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and provide technical guidance without a management title.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes and cloud provider APIs is a strong plus.
- Experience with entitlements, billing systems, or platform infrastructure is a plus but not required.
- Prior exposure to building or extending AI-powered product features is a plus.
