Responsibilities
- Contribute to technical architecture as the product and customer scale grow.
- Build both front-end and back-end systems through all phases of software development, including ideation, prototyping, design, and implementation.
- Balance agility, scalability, availability, performance, reliability, and operational excellence through incremental delivery.
- Provide technical leadership and architecture guidance while remaining hands-on in development.
- Hire, mentor, and support the career development of other engineers.
- Partner with the Engineering Manager to develop the team and establish technical strategy.
- Collaborate with designers, product managers, researchers, data analysts, and product teams to deliver customer value.
Requirements
- Significant demonstrated impact on products and/or engineering teams.
- Deep knowledge of a high-level programming language such as Ruby, Python, or Perl.
- Experience with distributed systems.
- At least 2 years of experience serving as the primary technical leader for a team.
- Experience collaborating directly with product teams and designers and delivering value to customers or users.
- Experience building SaaS products is preferred.
- Strong product-strategy orientation and the ability to work pragmatically in cross-disciplinary teams.
