Responsibilities
- Own the Python-based pricing and decision engine and its AWS production services.
- Implement scoring models, offer grids, modifiers, pricing rules, and offer-construction logic.
- Lead and mentor engineers, set technical standards, review code, and direct delivery of risky changes.
- Maintain correct versioned data, audit records, experiment history, reconciliation checks, and quality controls across DynamoDB and S3.
- Design, run, and analyze A/B tests for pricing strategies and maintain experiment-data integrity.
- Own integrations with the sales platform, CRM, and external credit and bank-data providers.
- Maintain system reliability, observability, and the production health dashboard.
- Coordinate pricing changes and technical delivery with Product, DevOps, Data Engineering, Data Science, and QA.
- Integrate machine-learning models into production and build future analytics applications, data products, and supporting data plumbing.
- Use AI and LLM tooling for prototyping, documentation, testing, and development.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional Python development building and maintaining production applications and services.
- Experience leading or mentoring engineers, setting standards, reviewing code, and directing a small team.
- Experience building and maintaining REST APIs with FastAPI, Flask, or similar tools.
- Hands-on production AWS experience, particularly with ECS/Fargate, DynamoDB, S3, Lambda, SQS, Secrets Manager, and CloudWatch.
- Experience designing DynamoDB access patterns, handling schema and type changes, and managing versioned S3 data such as Parquet and partitioned datasets.
- Strong SQL skills and experience with relational and NoSQL data, CSV, and Parquet files.
- Experience with business-logic-heavy applications where pricing or decision correctness is critical.
- Familiarity with data modeling and validation frameworks such as Pydantic and with reconciliation and QA checks.
- Experience integrating machine-learning or analytical model outputs into production, including feature engineering, scoring logic, and model-deployment collaboration.
- Experience designing or supporting A/B tests and experimentation, including stratification and clean experiment data.
- Strong communication, cross-team collaboration, self-direction, and end-to-end system ownership.
- Comfort using modern AI and LLM tools.
- Preferred: financial services, lending, or pricing-system experience; CRM or platform APIs such as Salesforce or HubSpot; Docker and ECS deployments; dbt or Airflow; Next.js and TypeScript; RAG, LangChain, LangGraph, or Agents SDK; and MLflow or SageMaker.
