Base Salary
$131k - $197k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and launch Android products and services that solve real-world customer problems.
- Independently define, decompose, and lead delivery of complex projects, potentially leading other engineers.
- Partner strategically with Product and Design to influence the roadmap and propose architectural improvements.
- Lead the transition toward a highly modularized codebase to improve build speeds and team fungibility.
- Guide technical trade-offs and recommend scalable, extensible solutions.
- Perform code and design reviews and write high-quality tests.
- Maintain high standards for code quality and operational rigor, including monitoring, alerting, and runbooks.
- Become a subject matter expert for services in the team’s domain and create technical documentation.
- Identify and remove developer-experience bottlenecks.
- Mentor and oversee junior engineers and support their technical and career development.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
- 9+ years of professional Android development experience using Kotlin and shipping apps to the Play Store.
- 3+ years of experience with modern Kotlin development practices, including Jetpack Compose and Flow.
- Strong knowledge of computer science fundamentals, Android design patterns, and best practices.
- Experience leading projects from planning through release, distributing work, and mentoring junior engineers.
- Experience integrating with RESTful server-side services.
- Experience with AI tools.
- Ability to collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering stakeholders.
- Strong attention to design and product detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with Kotlin Multiplatform is a plus.
- Experience with Scrum/Agile development methodologies is expected.
