Responsibilities
- Analyze MongoDB production workloads, queries, indexes, data models, cluster configurations, and resource utilization to identify performance, scalability, and cost opportunities.
- Evaluate distributed architectures, replication, sharding, high availability, backup and recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Assess application services, APIs, networking, security, cloud infrastructure, and adjacent technologies to improve architecture and operational efficiency.
- Guide customers on application modernization, cloud-native design, and AI-powered application architectures involving Search, Vector Search, RAG, and intelligent agents.
- Lead technical discovery, investigation, validation, and architecture design discussions with developers, architects, and engineering leaders.
- Identify improvements to development workflows, deployment practices, operational processes, team capabilities, and architectural ownership.
- Build trusted technical relationships and collaborate with Technical Support, Professional Services, and product specialists when additional troubleshooting or implementation expertise is needed.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering, solutions architecture, technical consulting, or related technical roles, including customer-facing technical engagement.
- 2+ years of professional programming or scripting experience with languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript/Node.js, C#, C++, or SQL.
- Strong understanding of database technologies, distributed systems, modern application architectures, and high availability.
- Practical experience investigating technical issues, analyzing performance, and evaluating architectural trade-offs.
- Working knowledge of cloud infrastructure and application architectures on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Ability to communicate complex technical findings clearly to developers, architects, and technical leaders and independently drive technical engagements.
- Preferred experience with MongoDB, Atlas, NoSQL, or relational databases, including query optimization, indexing, data modeling, replication, and database scaling.
- Preferred exposure to Kubernetes, Kafka, microservices, APIs, event-driven architectures, application modernization, Vector Search, RAG, or agentic systems.
