Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and support Java applications and microservices.
- Build scalable, resilient, and secure APIs, integrations, and event-driven solutions.
- Deliver software across the full software development lifecycle through production support.
- Optimize application performance, reliability, scalability, and database solutions.
- Implement automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and drive resolution.
- Partner with business, architecture, and infrastructure teams on enterprise solutions.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and contribute to modernization initiatives.
- Mentor engineers and promote engineering excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Embed security, risk management, resiliency, and operational readiness into engineering practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- 6–8+ years of software engineering experience.
- Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, microservices, and REST APIs.
- Hands-on experience with Kafka and event-driven architectures.
- Experience building cloud-native applications on AWS.
- Strong knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, data modeling, SQL development, and query optimization.
- Understanding of CI/CD, DevOps, automated testing, and observability practices.
- Ability to design highly available, scalable, secure, and fault-tolerant systems.
- Strong troubleshooting, production-support, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience using GitHub Copilot, Kiro, generative AI, or AI-assisted engineering tools is valued.
- Preferred experience includes financial services, capital markets, regulated industries, distributed systems, cloud-native platforms at scale, modernization, platform transformation, and AI-enabled engineering initiatives.
- Ability to communicate effectively across technical and business teams and mentor engineers through coaching and knowledge sharing.
