Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable Java microservices using Spring Boot.
- Own API design, including versioning, idempotency, error contracts, and OpenAPI specifications.
- Architect microservices using bounded contexts, saga patterns, and appropriate service decomposition.
- Implement security practices involving OAuth2, JWT, secure coding, and vulnerability remediation.
- Build and operate event-driven systems using Apache Kafka.
- Optimize JVM, database, SQL, caching, latency, and overall application performance.
- Design and implement AWS serverless solutions using Lambda, API Gateway, and Step Functions.
- Participate in on-call rotations and resolve production incidents.
- Conduct code reviews, mentor less-experienced engineers, and provide architectural guidance.
- Drive automation and AI-assisted workflows across development, testing, support, log analysis, and documentation.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional experience building Java backend services.
- Advanced Java proficiency and expert-level Spring Boot knowledge.
- Strong experience with REST API design, microservices architecture, distributed systems, eventual consistency, and fault tolerance.
- Advanced security expertise involving OAuth2, JWT, OWASP, secure coding, and vulnerability management.
- Experience with concurrency, event-driven architectures, performance optimization, and production microservices at scale.
- Experience with AWS or another cloud platform; AWS or cloud certification is preferred but not mandatory.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum practices.
- BS in Engineering or Computer Science.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and continuous-improvement skills.
