Responsibilities
- Architect and build backend services that power LLM-based agents and clinical automations.
- Design secure, observable, extensible APIs and data models.
- Profile hot paths, tune databases, and right-size cloud resources to optimize performance and cost.
- Write unit and integration tests, create alerts, and own on-call runbooks.
- Partner with product, AI, and frontend engineers to ship capabilities from concept through production.
- Help define product and technical specifications and guide technical direction.
Requirements
- Mastery of software engineering fundamentals with Python as the primary language and the ability to work fluently across technologies.
- Proven experience designing REST or GraphQL APIs and event-driven systems using Kafka, Pub/Sub, or similar technologies.
- Hands-on experience with testing, AI coding, microservices, and eventual consistency.
- Deep database expertise spanning schema design, query optimization, and scaling relational and NoSQL stores; MongoDB is a major bonus.
- Cloud fluency across AWS, Azure, or GCP, including containers, Kubernetes, infrastructure-as-code, security, and observability.
- A track record of shipping and operating highly reliable distributed systems at scale.
- Strong testing, code review, and documentation practices.
- Hands-on experience with AI/LLM services or real-time audio and streaming pipelines.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to influence technical direction without formal authority.
