Responsibilities
- Support development and deployment of AWS cloud infrastructure, especially Amazon EKS, as well as on-premise and portable edge infrastructure.
- Automate deployment processes and manage Kubernetes containers and AWS cloud infrastructure.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve the reliability, scalability, availability, and performance of production services.
- Collaborate with development teams to integrate applications into infrastructure and deployment workflows.
- Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership while remaining hands-on.
- Maintain terminal-based Linux environments and perform system administration and troubleshooting.
Requirements
- A current TS/SCI U.S. Government security clearance and U.S. citizenship are required.
- Requires 9+ years of DevOps engineering or software development experience with a related bachelor's degree, 7 years of relevant experience with a related master's degree, or a high school diploma/equivalent with 13 years of relevant experience.
- Strong knowledge of Kubernetes or other container orchestration platforms and AWS services including EKS, EC2, EBS, S3, and Lambda.
- Experience with Terraform, Ansible, application and container deployment, scaling, and management.
- Ability to program in Python, Bash, or Go and familiarity with Git and Flux.
- Proficiency in Linux system administration and troubleshooting, plus strong problem-solving, oral communication, and written communication skills.
- Understanding of Agile software development methodologies and standard software development tool suites.
- Experience serving as a technical lead, mentor, or manager for engineering teams is required.
- Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Accumulo, Ceph, Spark, NiFi, Kafka, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Hive, Drill, Impala, Trino, or Presto is preferred.
- Must be able to work onsite in San Antonio, Texas five days per week and help open or close the workspace as needed.
