Responsibilities
- Design, build, and evolve scalable backend services with Java and Spring Boot across multiple product and platform areas.
- Lead cross-team technical initiatives from ideation through production while remaining hands-on in code.
- Develop REST and gRPC APIs, event-driven flows, persistence solutions, messaging patterns, and shared platform capabilities.
- Improve architecture, observability, performance, security, testing, reliability, and developer experience.
- Own services in production using metrics, alerting, Kubernetes-based operations, and CI/CD practices.
- Collaborate with product managers and backend, web, and mobile teams on customer-facing solutions.
- Mentor engineers through technical leadership, code reviews, and knowledge sharing.
- Use AI-assisted tooling pragmatically and help establish sensible engineering practices around it.
Requirements
- Deep experience building backend services with modern Java and Spring Boot.
- Experience operating at Staff level across architecture, implementation, and cross-team technical leadership.
- Experience with microservices and event-driven architectures, including reliability, scalability, idempotency, and maintainability.
- Experience with PostgreSQL, JPA/Hibernate, Flyway, Redis, and Kafka.
- Experience owning production services and improving observability, metrics, alerting, CI/CD, and Kubernetes-based operations.
- Comfort using AI-assisted development tools in a reviewable, reliable, and practical manner.
- Collaborative, product-minded approach with willingness to work across the stack when needed.
- Experience with React, TypeScript, micro-frontends, and end-to-end feature delivery is preferred.
