Base Salary

$14k - $165k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Set technical direction and lead architecture, design, development, deployment, and operational support for business-critical Windows Services.
  • Design and govern multithreaded application patterns, synchronization, thread lifecycle management, service health checks, dead-thread recovery, and controlled failure escalation.
  • Diagnose and permanently resolve complex production issues involving concurrency, service stability, performance, memory usage, resource contention, hangs, and deadlocks.
  • Define transaction-integrity, dead-letter, replayable processing, connection-resiliency, bounded-memory, and data-access standards.
  • Provide technical authority for SQL Server design and performance, including execution plans, indexing, isolation levels, concurrency, and deadlock prevention and resolution.
  • Establish deployment, configuration, monitoring, observability, runbook, documentation, and operational standards for Windows Services.
  • Lead high-risk design and code reviews, mentor senior developers, influence cross-functional stakeholders, and recommend modernization strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, mathematics, engineering, or another technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • Six years of professional software engineering experience with substantial depth in C# and the .NET Framework.
  • Deep hands-on multithreading and concurrency expertise, including synchronization primitives, thread lifecycle management, deadlocks, race conditions, and resource contention.
  • Production experience building and operating Windows Services using ServiceBase, Service Control Manager, InstallUtil/ProjectInstaller, lifecycle management, and Windows Event Log.
  • Five years of advanced SQL Server engineering experience covering transactions, isolation levels, concurrency, deadlock handling, execution-plan analysis, indexing, and connection resiliency.
  • Experience with relational design, RDBMS, normalization, star/Kimball modeling, LLBLGen or a comparable ORM such as Entity Framework, and service-oriented architecture.
  • Experience with Visual Studio, Git or Bitbucket, SQL Server Management Studio, NUnit or comparable tools, and build/deployment pipelines.
  • Ability to work independently, make and document sound engineering decisions, resolve ambiguous technical challenges, communicate with varied audiences, and improve maintainability.
  • Preferred qualifications include a master's degree, financial services or insurance experience, formal change management or L3 support experience, observability tooling experience, messaging and integration experience, cloud and containerization exposure, CI/CD experience, technology certifications, and REST/API or ASP.NET Web API familiarity.

  • Annual salary range is stated as $141,00–$165,000, with eligibility for an annual bonus.
