Responsibilities
- Embed with enterprise customers to understand communications workflows, AI use cases, and integration challenges.
- Design and ship custom production implementations involving AI voice assistants, Telnyx APIs, WebRTC, and communications systems.
- Run open-weight and hosted LLMs, deploy LiteLLM gateways, and configure routing, fallbacks, rate limits, virtual keys, and usage governance.
- Build prompt and RAG pipelines, evaluation harnesses, model-routing strategies, and portable applications for Spanish and English use cases.
- Implement production observability with metrics, logs, traces, dashboards, alerting, cost tracking, caching, and guardrails.
- Lead technical discovery, POCs, pilots, production launches, customer troubleshooting, and ongoing stabilization.
- Create technical documentation and runbooks, and collaborate with Product and Engineering on roadmap improvements based on field insights.
Requirements
- A CS degree or equivalent experience.
- At least 3 years of experience building and shipping production software.
- Proficiency in multiple languages among Python, Node.js/TypeScript, and Go.
- Practical knowledge of production LLM concerns including rate limits, retries, streaming, token accounting, cost attribution, and concurrency failure modes.
- Experience deploying containerized services on Kubernetes and managing secrets, configuration, and upgrades.
- Experience with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Graylog, or ELK.
- High-concurrency experience with Kafka, message queues, or event streams.
- Experience building APIs, including OpenAPI, REST or GraphQL design, authentication, rate limiting, versioning, and idempotency.
- Customer-facing engineering experience, including technical discovery, executive presentations, troubleshooting, and high-stakes conversations.
- Exposure to SIP, WebRTC, or real-time voice and messaging systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English and Spanish.
- Based in Mexico City or willing to relocate, with legal authorization to work in Mexico or eligibility for sponsorship.
- Preferred experience includes AI voice assistants, STT/TTS, LLM gateways, open-weight models, inference serving, GPU sizing, SQL, ETL, CI/CD, telecom or CPaaS, sovereign or on-premises deployments, Mexican/LATAM regulations, IAM, encryption, and audit logging.
