Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, architect, and own end-to-end backend solutions using Java and the Spring ecosystem.
  • Lead technical decisions, architectural discussions, complex project sub-teams, and mentorship of junior engineers.
  • Build high-throughput, low-latency systems and optimize applications, data models, queries, and caching strategies.
  • Build and maintain Kafka-based data pipelines feeding real-time analytics with Apache Pinot.
  • Enhance automation and deployment workflows, including CI/CD pipelines, Git integration, and OpenShift application management.
  • Integrate upstream data sources and downstream consumers while collaborating with project managers, business analysts, and senior stakeholders.
  • Own the full application lifecycle, provide application support, and troubleshoot production issues involving risk analytics and margin methodology.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of professional experience designing, building, and deploying enterprise-scale distributed backend systems.
  • Deep hands-on knowledge of modern Java 11+ and the Spring ecosystem, including Spring Boot and Spring Security.
  • Strong SQL and relational database experience, particularly with Microsoft SQL Server, including optimized queries and schema design.
  • Experience with message-driven architectures and technologies such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
  • A demonstrated record of leading technical initiatives, making architectural decisions, and mentoring engineers.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or Tekton, Git, Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for explaining complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience or strong interest in finance, especially Prime Finance, Counterparty Risk, or Market Risk, is preferred.
  • An advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field is preferred.
  • Experience with OLAP datastores such as Apache Pinot and Unix/Linux shell scripting is preferred.
  • Experience in an Agile/Scrum environment is preferred.
