Base Salary
$200k - $250k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver services for enterprise document understanding, retrieval, knowledge grounding, and RAG.
- Own document ingestion, parsing and extraction, chunking and embedding, indexing, retrieval, knowledge management, evaluation, and answer grounding systems.
- Improve retrieval quality, answer quality, groundedness, attribution, latency, scalability, and cost efficiency.
- Architect highly available, multi-tenant cloud services that process large volumes of enterprise content securely and reliably.
- Influence architecture across organizations, participate in critical design reviews, and establish engineering standards.
- Mentor senior engineers and help teams make effective technical tradeoffs.
- Partner with Product Managers, Applied Scientists, Designers, and Engineering Leaders to deliver production AI capabilities.
- Remain hands-on with architecture, implementation, mentoring, and product delivery.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience building large-scale software systems.
- Significant experience shipping production AI products.
- Strong backend engineering experience in Python and/or C#.
- Deep understanding of distributed systems and cloud-native architectures.
- Experience building scalable APIs, microservices, and event-driven systems.
- Strong understanding of retrieval systems, including RAG, embeddings, vector search, evaluation, and LLM-powered applications.
- Experience designing reliable, multi-tenant enterprise platforms.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly.
- Track record of mentoring engineers and influencing technical direction beyond the immediate team.
- Experience with areas such as Azure, AWS, GCP, Docker, Kubernetes, search platforms, vector databases, LLMs, RAG, embeddings, OCR, Intelligent Document Processing, Knowledge Graphs, and evaluation frameworks is valuable.
