Responsibilities
- Own and drive end-to-end architecture and delivery of critical systems across multiple teams.
- Define and evolve microservices architecture, platform design, engineering standards, API contracts, and reusable frameworks.
- Lead complex technical initiatives, architectural reviews, governance, proofs of concept, and cross-team delivery.
- Design, implement, and optimize scalable distributed systems with strong reliability, performance, security, and resiliency.
- Architect PostgreSQL data systems and cloud-native solutions on AWS or GCP.
- Establish best practices for CI/CD, DevSecOps, observability, security, refactoring, testability, debugging, and code quality.
- Contribute hands-on by building critical components, proofs of concept, and performance-sensitive systems.
- Mentor engineers and influence technical direction across engineering, product, sales, support, and architecture teams.
- Drive adoption of AI-assisted and specification-based development, including translating requirements into code, APIs, and tests.
- Integrate LLMs into engineering workflows and use AI for code generation, debugging, testing, documentation, and developer productivity.
- Identify technical risks and resolve ambiguous, high-impact, business-critical problems.
- Adhere to established internal controls.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
- 16–20 years of software engineering experience, including significant architecture and large-scale system design experience.
- Proven ownership and delivery of complex distributed systems across multiple teams.
- Expert knowledge of microservices architecture, Spring Boot, SQL databases, and PostgreSQL.
- Strong expertise in distributed systems, scalability, performance optimization, and system reliability.
- Experience with AWS and/or GCP, cloud-native patterns, DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and observability.
- Demonstrated ability to influence technical direction across teams and organizations and lead cross-functional initiatives.
- Strong hands-on ability to prototype, build proofs of concept, and solve complex technical challenges.
- Experience with AI-assisted coding tools such as Cursor, Copilot, or Claude Code.
- Strong understanding of LLMs and their applications in software development, DevSecOps, and automation.
- Experience integrating LLMs through APIs such as AWS Bedrock or OpenAI.
- Experience with prompt engineering, AI-powered code generation, debugging, testing, and documentation.
- Ability to drive AI adoption and specification-based development across engineering teams.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, ownership, and ambiguity-management skills.
- Experience leading initiatives in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Experience with Groovy, Kafka or RabbitMQ, Docker, and Kubernetes is a plus.
- Prior Salesforce experience is an advantage.
