Responsibilities
- Lead the design, implementation, and deployment of new platform features and services.
- Build features and services using Kotlin, Python, and front-end technologies.
- Develop APIs, backend services, and integrations supporting Matterport products.
- Work with relational and non-relational data stores in a high-scale platform environment.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, engineers, and QA.
- Monitor live environments and respond to operational issues.
- Advocate for sound engineering practices and contribute to a learning culture.
- Mentor and coach junior engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field from an accredited, not-for-profit university or college.
- 8+ years of development experience designing and delivering features and services in a cloud environment.
- Experience developing SaaS solutions using modern object-oriented languages such as Java and/or server-side Kotlin.
- Experience with relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills across platform development.
- Track record of developing testable, maintainable, and well-documented code.
- Ability to work effectively in an agile environment.
- Track record of commitment to prior employers.
- Preferred qualifications include familiarity with Microsoft stack technologies, Docker, Kubernetes, RabbitMQ, Kafka, Python, Elasticsearch, Autodesk Revit or other building information modeling software, FoundationDB, React, or Angular.
