Responsibilities
- Own the design, implementation, and operational reliability of a major market-making domain, including pricing, order management, data ingestion, or P&L and risk infrastructure.
- Build high-throughput, low-latency systems processing market data, fixture updates, pricing feeds, and order lifecycle events.
- Partner with senior engineers and traders on platform architecture and cross-domain technical decisions.
- Develop exchange abstraction APIs and integration patterns for new venues beyond CDNA.
- Build internal Trading UI tools such as dashboards, kill switches, position monitors, and manual intervention surfaces.
- Diagnose live-trading production issues and implement durable fixes.
- Identify performance bottlenecks and technical risks before they affect trading operations.
- Contribute to design documentation, code reviews, architecture reviews, and engineering standards.
- Use knowledge of trading economics, including spreads, adverse selection, and inventory risk, to prioritize engineering work.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of experience building scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems in production.
- Strong hands-on proficiency with Java, Kafka, Redis, Kubernetes, AWS, and Postgres.
- Deep experience with event-driven architecture and asynchronous messaging, including consumer groups, partitioning, and delivery guarantees.
- Demonstrated ownership of designing, building, operating, and improving production systems end to end.
- Strong understanding of latency, throughput, performance measurement, and data pipeline efficiency.
- Ability to communicate clearly through design documents, production incident explanations, and architectural discussions.
- Comfort working with ambiguity, daily deployments, and rapidly evolving specifications.
- Preferred: 3+ years building systems balancing latency, throughput, and cost efficiency.
- Preferred: experience with real-time trading, financial infrastructure, market data platforms, or prediction markets.
- Preferred: familiarity with FIX protocol or exchange connectivity patterns.
- Preferred: working knowledge of pricing models, spread optimization, inventory management, or adverse selection.
