Base Salary
$149k - $199k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement multi-layered distributed systems that deliver reliable software at scale.
- Collaborate on troubleshooting and resolving engineering problems involving distributed services and APIs.
- Oversee service performance, scalability, and event planning requirements.
- Guide and enforce development practices and processes.
- Review code and collaborate with team members to ensure product and design specifications are met.
- Research and learn new technologies while defining platform capabilities and implementing product solutions.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of relevant industry experience.
- Proficiency in at least one core programming language, such as Java, Kotlin, Python, or JavaScript.
- Experience with microservices and REST APIs.
- Familiarity with AWS and core services including S3, Lambda, and EC2.
- Experience with at least one database system, such as SQL, MongoDB, or OpenSearch.
- Experience with messaging technology such as Apache Kafka.
- Knowledge of software development best practices, functional or object-oriented programming, data structures, algorithms, unit testing, code reviews, and documentation.
- Strong problem-solving, collaboration, adaptability, and self-directed learning skills.
- A B.S. in Computer Science or a related field is preferred.
- Preferred experience with video streaming and playback and DRM technologies.
