Responsibilities
- Ensure the availability, stability, and performance of mission-critical enterprise applications.
- Lead incident response, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and preventative remediation.
- Support application recovery, failover, disaster recovery, business continuity, processing schedules, and service-level commitments.
- Support deployments, releases, vendor upgrades, and automation initiatives.
- Improve monitoring, alerting, observability, and operational tooling.
- Partner with development, infrastructure, cloud, database, network, security, product, and operations teams on reliability and governance.
- Support audit, risk, compliance, and operational control requirements.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree is preferred, or equivalent practical experience.
- 6–8 years of experience supporting enterprise applications in complex production environments.
- Strong understanding of Site Reliability Engineering principles, including reliability, observability, automation, and incident prevention.
- Experience with enterprise-scale distributed applications, cloud technologies, modern infrastructure platforms, messaging systems, middleware, and integration technologies.
- Experience with IBM MQ, Kafka, IIB, or similar technologies, plus exposure to OpenShift, Kubernetes, or Docker.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Preferred qualifications include event-driven architecture, JCL and batch processing, Python or other scripting languages, financial services or capital-markets experience, AI-driven automation, and enterprise integration or distributed-processing experience.
