Base Salary
$103k - $213k/yr
Responsibilities
- Identify and document application interfaces and integrations, including REST and SOAP APIs, file transfers, message queues, ETL jobs, database links, shared database access, and scheduled batch exchanges.
- Map point-to-point integrations, shared middleware, enterprise integration patterns, authoritative data sources, replicas, and derived data copies.
- Assess enterprise shared services including API management, data integration and ETL, identity and access management, enterprise search, document management, and low-code and robotic process automation platforms.
- Validate automated integration dependency analysis and populate dependency graphs for impact analysis and modernization wave sequencing.
- Assess integration risk and complexity for application retirement and consolidation decisions, including downstream consumers, data contracts, coexistence, and cutover considerations.
- Define target-state API-first, event-driven, and consolidated data-service integration patterns.
- Collaborate with application, data, and third-party system owners to confirm interface contracts and data exchange expectations.
- Produce traceable interface inventories, data-flow diagrams, and integration documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, information systems, computer engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Three to six years of enterprise integration or software engineering experience, including mapping and modernizing integrations across multiple applications.
- Experience with enterprise application integration, REST and SOAP APIs, JMS, AMQP, Kafka or cloud messaging services, and ETL/ELT.
- Strong SQL skills across Oracle, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL, including database links and replication.
- Ability to read integration code and configuration in Java and/or .NET.
- Working knowledge of SAML, OAuth 2.0, and OpenID Connect.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret-level clearance.
- Clear, structured written documentation skills and strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate with clients and identify engagement follow-on opportunities is preferred.
- Must be comfortable working in person as needed in the Washington, DC area.
