Responsibilities
- Guide and mentor engineers through code reviews, design discussions, technical guidance, and engineering best practices.
- Lead technical architecture, discovery, system design, and delivery for complex scalable software systems.
- Develop and enhance backend services using distributed systems, microservices, event-driven architecture, and appropriate design patterns.
- Drive coding standards, design patterns, documentation, quality, security, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with Product Management, UX/UI, Quality Assurance, DevOps, architects, developers, and other cross-functional stakeholders.
- Provide production support, technical debugging, research into emerging technologies, and clear communication of architectural decisions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or a related area plus five years of software engineering experience, or seven years of software engineering experience.
- Ideally 15 or more years of software development experience focused on large-scale distributed systems.
- Strong experience with Java, React Native, Node.js, Kafka, NoSQL databases, microservices, event-driven architecture, distributed system design, data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.
- Experience with DevOps, CI/CD, Git, Maven, public cloud technologies such as Azure or Google Cloud Platform, and production support.
- Experience designing, developing, and delivering software products and data-backed services for large user bases, including global platform development and enhancements.
- Preferred master’s degree in a relevant computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, or software engineering field plus three years of related experience.
- Preferred knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and digital accessibility best practices.
