Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and execute performance, load, stress, and capacity test strategies for distributed systems.
- Build and maintain automated performance test scripts and frameworks using LoadRunner and Postman.
- Analyze application performance in microservices architectures running on Kubernetes and OpenShift.
- Monitor system health with Splunk, SPLOC, Grafana, and AppDynamics to identify trends, constraints, and anomalies.
- Perform root-cause analysis across application, infrastructure, network, JVM, and database layers.
- Evaluate JVM garbage collection, CPU, memory, heap, and thread behavior to improve application efficiency.
- Design and implement service virtualization solutions, including stubs and mock services.
- Test event-driven architectures using Kafka, Redis, and other messaging and caching technologies.
- Establish performance benchmarks, SLAs, response-time thresholds, concurrency limits, and capacity-planning targets.
- Partner with engineering, architecture, platform, and DevOps teams to integrate performance validation into CI/CD pipelines.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of Software Engineering experience or equivalent experience demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience with performance testing tools.
- At least 5 years of experience testing RESTful and SOAP APIs and distributed systems.
- At least 5 years of experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk, SPLOC, Grafana, and AppDynamics.
- At least 5 years of experience in JVM performance tuning, garbage collection, and memory management.
- At least 5 years of demonstrated experience with service virtualization.
- At least 5 years of scripting or programming experience with C, Java, Python, or similar.
- Desired experience includes cloud-based microservices, Kubernetes/OpenShift, Kafka, Redis, API gateways, middleware, network concepts, layered troubleshooting, CI/CD integration, and regulated or financial-services environments.
- Strong analytical, critical-thinking, communication, ownership, and problem-solving skills are expected.
