Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement scalable Java and Spring Boot microservices for enterprise workloads.
- Build resilient, high-performance distributed applications and contribute to scalability, reliability, observability, and cloud architecture decisions.
- Lead JVM tuning, memory and garbage-collection optimization, concurrency and thread management, connection-pool tuning, profiling, and API performance improvements.
- Optimize Oracle and PostgreSQL databases through query tuning, execution-plan analysis, indexing, schema and data-model optimization, and performance monitoring.
- Support cloud modernization and application deployment initiatives on Google Cloud Platform.
- Design integrations with Snowflake and contribute to data-platform modernization, ingestion, integration, and ETL/ELT initiatives.
- Promote engineering standards through design reviews, peer code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD adoption, and operational excellence.
- Mentor and coach engineers and collaborate with architects, product managers, DevOps engineers, and business stakeholders.
Requirements
- 9+ years of hands-on software engineering experience with strong Java and microservices expertise.
- Significant experience designing enterprise-scale, highly scalable distributed systems and cloud-native applications.
- Deep proficiency in Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, RESTful APIs, event-driven architectures, resiliency, scalability, fault tolerance, and observability.
- Proven experience optimizing Java applications and microservices, including JVM tuning, garbage collection, concurrency, profiling, production troubleshooting, and response-time optimization.
- Strong expertise in Oracle and PostgreSQL, including SQL tuning, execution-plan analysis, indexing, schema optimization, scalability, and database monitoring.
- Experience with business-critical systems where performance, scalability, reliability, and availability are essential.
- Experience integrating enterprise applications with Snowflake and understanding data ingestion, integration patterns, ETL/ELT, and application connectivity.
- Experience developing and deploying applications on public cloud platforms, preferably Google Cloud Platform.
- Understanding of caching, distributed systems, concurrency, performance engineering, architecture, algorithms, and data structures.
- Desirable experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, RabbitMQ, observability platforms, SRE practices, infrastructure automation, data or analytics platforms, Python, Git, Jenkins, Maven, Gradle, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum environments and prior technical leadership, mentoring, or team guidance.
- Ability to use AI tools responsibly to improve productivity and solve business problems while applying critical judgment to data and AI outputs.
