Responsibilities
- Architect and implement high-performance distributed systems primarily in Java and Spring Boot.
- Deploy GenAI services embedded in core Java-based banking platforms.
- Integrate LLMs, RAG pipelines, embeddings, vector databases, and AI orchestration frameworks into enterprise systems.
- Build RAG pipelines, agent orchestration layers, and AI service abstractions callable from Java systems.
- Design secure, compliant Open Banking APIs for high-volume enterprise clients.
- Lead technical design reviews across backend, API, and AI integration layers.
- Develop observability, resilience, governance, risk, and model validation frameworks for AI-enabled services.
- Advise leadership on complex enterprise technology strategies and solutions.
- Partner with Product and Business leaders to shape AI-enabled banking capabilities.
- Mentor senior engineers and raise engineering rigor across the organization.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
- Strong hands-on Java ecosystem expertise, including Spring Boot, distributed systems, concurrency, and performance tuning.
- Proficiency in Python and experience designing large-scale distributed systems in production.
- One to two years of experience delivering GenAI systems involving LLM applications, RAG architectures, embeddings, vector databases, and agent frameworks.
- Experience integrating AI services into enterprise backend platforms.
- Strong cloud-native experience with GCP or Azure.
- Experience influencing architectural decisions across complex systems.
- Experience in banking or financial services, preferably commercial or corporate banking, payments, treasury, lending, or foreign exchange.
- Experience implementing AI governance, risk, and model validation frameworks.
- Familiarity with event-driven architectures such as Kafka.
- Experience modernizing legacy Java systems with AI augmentation.
- Experience engaging senior stakeholders and strong communication skills.
- Experience with ReactJS and Micro Frontends.
