Responsibilities

  • Define and own end-to-end target-state architecture across systems, data platforms, and cloud integrations.
  • Publish and maintain architectural blueprints, design patterns, and engineering standards.
  • Lead the Architecture Review Board process and ensure designs meet scalability, maintainability, performance, latency, and security requirements.
  • Develop the roadmap for integrating AI, machine learning, and Generative AI into enterprise products.
  • Establish AI governance, security guardrails, data privacy controls, and ethical compliance standards.
  • Architect scalable data pipelines and MLOps or LLMOps capabilities for model training, fine-tuning, and low-latency inference.
  • Champion AI-driven engineering tooling to improve developer productivity and code quality.
  • Mentor Principal Engineers and Tech Leads and maintain architectural coherence across engineering domains.
  • Lead investigations into performance bottlenecks, systemic incidents, and architectural pivots.
  • Write prototype code, execute proof-of-concepts, and validate new AI tools and cloud services before broader adoption.
  • Translate commercial objectives into technical roadmaps and communicate technical trade-offs and risks to business and executive stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of hands-on software engineering experience.
  • At least 3+ years acting as a Principal or Senior Architect designing large-scale, high-throughput, mission-critical distributed systems.
  • Advanced data architecture experience with Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, and large-scale data processing patterns such as Data Mesh and Lakehouse.
  • Strong experience with data integration and relational platforms.
  • Experience designing highly available hybrid and multi-cloud architectures using Azure and AWS.
  • Experience designing architectures for AI/ML workloads, including LLM integration, predictive analytics, and vector search.
  • Deep understanding of security architecture, secure SDLC practices, data privacy, and regulated financial-services compliance.
  • Advanced knowledge of fault-tolerant architectures, SRE principles, observability, and cloud-native resilience patterns.
  • Ability to influence engineering pods, product managers, and C-level executives without direct reporting authority.
  • Strong stakeholder, client communication, mentoring, technical leadership, and commercial-awareness skills.
  • Ability to work across varied technology stacks and rapidly build context in unfamiliar technologies.
