Responsibilities
- Build and own backend components and data pipelines that collect, integrate, enrich, and transform endpoint data into actionable insights.
- Develop high-throughput services using Java, concurrency, distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and Kafka Streams.
- Own software delivery end to end, from requirements and design through implementation, validation, deployment, monitoring, and operations.
- Collaborate with Endpoint engineers and Product teams to deliver data collection features and product capabilities.
- Run services on AWS with monitoring, alerting, automation, and operational best practices.
- Apply automated unit and integration testing and maintain high standards for code quality and maintainability.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of software engineering experience, ideally with backend or data-intensive systems.
- Strong Java skills and deep understanding of the JVM, including Java 17 and Java 21.
- Strong understanding of concurrency, including multithreading, thread safety, and concurrent data structures.
- Experience building microservices with Spring Boot or Micronaut and working with event-driven architectures and distributed systems.
- Strong SQL skills and hands-on experience with high-volume relational databases or data warehouses such as Postgres.
- Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka and Kafka Streams, including stateless and stateful topologies.
- Experience running services on AWS, including monitoring, alerting, and operational practices.
- Strong automated testing practices covering unit and integration testing.
- Experience with agentic AI coding tools such as Claude Code or Cursor.
- Fluency in spoken and written English.
- Desirable experience with DevOps, GitOps, infrastructure as code, FluxCD, Helm, Kustomize, ClickHouse, DataDog, or Prometheus/Grafana.
