Base Salary
$140k - $166k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build, maintain, and improve automated test suites covering UI, API, mobile, microservices, and database testing.
- Guide SDETs in at least one functional area and provide oversight, mentoring, and subject-matter expertise to a small group of SDETs.
- Analyze testing tools, create proof-of-concept models, and recommend tools and quality engineering practices.
- Implement coding guidelines, peer reviews, Git workflows, process workflows, quality gates, and CI/CD-based continuous testing.
- Review technical specifications and program code with architects and developers and promote quality engineering standards across teams.
- Perform functional and regression testing, analyze automated test results, report defects, and track issues to closure.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, release meetings, Go/No-Go decisions, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Design and document test strategies, testing guidelines, standard operating procedures, utilities, and automation tooling.
- Triage customer issues, analyze production metrics and logs, perform root cause analysis, and recommend system hardening measures.
- Maintain test environments and test data to keep them consistent with staging and production configurations.
Requirements
- Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience, or 6 years with an advanced degree.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, physics, mathematics, statistics, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Proficiency in object-oriented programming, data structures, and design patterns using languages such as C#, Java, Python, or JavaScript, plus familiarity with Shell and PowerShell scripting.
- Expertise with Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Appium, Espresso, RestAssured, and HttpClient for automated testing.
- Experience building test automation frameworks using page-object, data-driven, and behavior-driven approaches with JUnit, NUnit, TestNG, Pytest, or Cucumber.
- Experience with Git workflows, Bitbucket or GitLab, Gradle, Maven, NuGet, JFrog, ProGet, cloud device testing, and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Bamboo, TeamCity, or CircleCI.
- Expertise developing test strategies and plans for smoke, functional, and regression testing, with working knowledge of Scrum, Kanban, Agile, and DevOps methodologies.
- Working knowledge of SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and DynamoDB, including complex queries, data architecture, stored procedures, monitoring, and profiling.
- Exposure to white-box testing, unit and integration testing, SonarQube, JaCoCo, and code quality and coverage automation.
- Knowledge of performance testing with JMeter or Gatling; REST, GraphQL, Webhooks, WCF, and gRPC; micro frontends; single-page applications; microservices; Kafka; SQS; Kubernetes; and service virtualization.
- Ability to create quality metrics, analyze trends and risks, troubleshoot difficult production scenarios, and use PagerDuty for production errors.
- Strong written, verbal, collaboration, technical communication, and quality advocacy skills.
- Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree, B2B2C SaaS or fintech experience, and experience building and deploying applications on Amazon Web Services.
- Ability to lift 5 to 10 pounds and perform the stated standing, sitting, walking, reaching, stretching, and manual dexterity requirements.
