Responsibilities
- Lead technical architecture and provide support for UKG Scheduling engineering teams.
- Develop, communicate, and enforce architectural visions, guidelines, standards, and technical roadmaps.
- Review code and designs to ensure integrity, performance, resilience, scalability, security, and cost effectiveness.
- Collaborate with developers, operations, product managers, technical leaders, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and define constraints.
- Define and enforce CI/CD standards, development methodologies, and quality assurance processes.
- Identify architectural risks, develop mitigation strategies, and maintain architectural opportunities.
- Promote observability, proactive alerting, service ownership, rapid recovery, and improved service resilience.
- Document and maintain product and service architecture.
- Drive strategic architecture vision, innovation, and multi-year cross-product architecture planning.
- Evaluate emerging technologies, industry trends, and practices to improve scalability, security, performance, and competitive advantage.
- Use artificial intelligence tools to identify engineering productivity improvements and potential user-facing features.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- At least 10 years of software development experience in a fast-paced environment across all phases of the software development life cycle.
- Proven experience as a lead software developer or similar role driving architecture and implementation of complex software solutions.
- Extensive experience with Java-based development technologies for SaaS and multitenant systems.
- Experience with Datadog and Grafana for production monitoring and observability.
- Experience with modern cloud technologies including GCP, AWS, Azure, and Kubernetes.
- Experience designing highly reliable, scalable, secure, and decoupled solutions optimized for cloud environments and managed services.
- Strong exposure to Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery processes.
- Experience with feasibility studies, detailed analysis, performance analysis, and prototyping.
- Experience developing software applications for multiplatform development.
- Experience with object-oriented programming, service-oriented architecture, and design patterns.
- Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, and stakeholder collaboration skills.
- Experience with relational and non-relational databases including SQL Server, Postgres, MySQL, MongoDB, and Cassandra.
- Preferred experience with automated testing and modern quality practices that reduce manual testing.
- Experience with artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques.
- Experience with analytics technologies including BigQuery, Snowflake, Tableau, and Looker.
- Experience with messaging and event-streaming solutions including Kafka, RabbitMQ, Apache Beam, and Spark.
