Responsibilities
- Lead complex technology initiatives with broad or companywide impact.
- Design and develop scalable, resilient microservices using Java, Spring, and Spring Boot.
- Build and enhance responsive, high-performing UI applications using React and TypeScript.
- Participate in requirements analysis, solution design, development, testing, deployment, and architectural planning.
- Design and develop APIs using RESTful and GraphQL approaches.
- Review complex technology solutions and contribute to enterprise engineering standards and best practices.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, technical experts, technology teams, and external industry groups.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers while promoting engineering excellence.
- Work outside normal business hours as needed and travel up to 5% of the time.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of software engineering experience or equivalent experience demonstrated through work, training, military experience, or education.
- At least 5 years of experience with Java and Spring/Spring Boot for scalable microservices.
- At least 5 years of experience with modern frontend frameworks such as React and TypeScript.
- At least 3 years of experience with API design and development using RESTful and GraphQL technologies.
- At least 2 years of experience with MongoDB or other NoSQL databases, Git, Kafka or similar event streaming platforms, and Redis or similar caching technologies.
- At least 1 year of experience with AI/ML concepts including LLMs, prompt engineering, and RAG.
- Desired qualifications include expertise in microservices architecture and distributed systems, API-driven frontend-backend integration, cloud environments, observability, and DevOps or CI/CD tools.
- Ability to work in Columbus, Ohio; the role is not eligible for relocation assistance.
