Responsibilities
- Own complex infrastructure initiatives across Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure, networking, and Infrastructure-as-Code frameworks.
- Design, deploy, and operate secure, scalable systems in AWS.
- Build and maintain self-service tooling, automation, provisioning frameworks, and Infrastructure-as-Code used by engineering teams.
- Plan technical improvements to the compute and cloud platform using data and success metrics.
- Document technical decisions, dependencies, estimates, and infrastructure interactions.
- Support engineering teams through code and design reviews, technical guidance, guides, playbooks, and internal tech talks.
- Participate in on-call rotations, respond to infrastructure incidents, lead root cause analysis, and drive mitigation and follow-through.
- Drive reliability, operational readiness, alerting, dashboards, runbooks, and developer productivity objectives.
- Mentor engineers, provide feedback, support hiring and interviews, and collaborate on shared infrastructure standards and roadmaps across Wolt, Deliveroo, and DoorDash.
Requirements
- Track record of owning complex technical initiatives end-to-end and contributing to architecture-level decisions.
- Deep hands-on production experience operating Kubernetes and container orchestration, including scaling, upgrades, and multi-tenancy.
- Strong experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS, including networking, IAM, account structuring, and cost management.
- Proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code, preferably Terraform, and with building provisioning or automation frameworks.
- Software engineering proficiency in Go, Python, or a similar language for internal tooling and automation.
- Knowledge of Kafka, gRPC, Postgres, MongoDB, Redis, and CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, with the ability to evaluate trade-offs.
- Understanding of SRE principles, incident response, fault-tolerant architecture, and capacity planning.
- Experience unblocking and mentoring engineers through code reviews, design reviews, knowledge sharing, or best-practice initiatives.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills.
- Preferred: experience with Argo CD, Flux, progressive delivery, service mesh technologies, multi-cluster or multi-region Kubernetes, GCP compute and networking, FinOps, multi-organization infrastructure unification, or open-source infrastructure and platform engineering projects in the CNCF ecosystem.
