Base Salary
$180k - $240k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the frontend of Sauna and ship fast, intuitive, polished user interfaces.
- Prototype quickly, make product and UX decisions, implement designs, and create designs when needed.
- Build reusable React components and manage application state effectively.
- Own full-stack features including database migrations, backend routes, frontend data fetching, and UI development.
- Improve performance through caching, refetching strategies, optimistic updates, and reducing duplicated network requests.
- Handle product details such as loading states, empty states, error messages, and keyboard shortcuts.
- Ship independently, gather feedback, and iterate on real product work.
Requirements
- 4+ years of frontend engineering experience and a portfolio of shipped complex web applications.
- Experience with React, state management, component lifecycle concepts, reusable components, and frontend performance.
- Ability to own a full-stack feature across database, backend, data fetching, and UI layers.
- Strong product sense, design intuition, visual judgment, and ability to make independent UX decisions.
- Experience with multiplayer applications, large-data applications with sophisticated fetching and caching, or server-sent events.
- High autonomy, low ego, and strong attention to product craft.
- Bonus: experience with Y.js, Automerge, CRDTs, LLM-based interfaces, local-first architectures, IndexedDB, service workers, sync strategies, or founding frontend engineering.
