Base Salary
$142k - $221k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and evolve Java microservices that provide product information management services and integrate with Kafka-based ingestion pipelines and Temporal workflows.
- Develop React-based internal tools for merchants, buyers, and data stewards, including operational dashboards, workflow monitors, and administrative interfaces.
- Build validation, canonicalization, and entity-resolution capabilities to improve product-data consistency across wholesale, marketplace, and direct-to-consumer channels.
- Participate in on-call rotations, implement observability, maintain runbooks and alerting, and respond to incidents.
- Contribute to architecture decisions and design reviews while considering upstream and downstream integrations and long-term platform health.
- Mentor engineers and collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders on complex system and product decisions.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of professional software engineering experience, including substantial backend and frontend application delivery.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Engineering, or Data Engineering.
- Proficiency in more than one programming language and experience with agentic development in the software development lifecycle.
- Experience designing and building Java microservices with PostgreSQL and Kafka-based event-driven architectures.
- Experience building production React applications with TypeScript, with attention to usability and accessibility.
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD pipeline configuration.
- Understanding of distributed-systems tradeoffs including eventual consistency, failure modes, idempotency, schema evolution, and data partitioning.
- Strong written, verbal, and diagramming communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
- Experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Temporal is preferred.
