Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement scalable microservices using Java, Spring Boot, and related technologies.
- Build resilient, high-performance distributed applications for enterprise workloads.
- Lead performance optimization across application, middleware, JVM, API, and database layers.
- Tune and troubleshoot Oracle and PostgreSQL databases using query analysis, indexing, schema optimization, and monitoring.
- Support Google Cloud Platform cloud modernization and cloud-native architecture initiatives.
- Design integrations with Snowflake and contribute to data platform modernization.
- Contribute to architecture decisions involving scalability, reliability, observability, performance, and cloud adoption.
- Promote code reviews, design reviews, automated testing, CI/CD adoption, and operational excellence.
- Mentor and coach engineers and provide technical guidance within the team.
Requirements
- At least 9 years of hands-on software engineering experience with strong Java and microservices expertise.
- Significant experience designing enterprise-scale, highly scalable distributed systems and cloud-native applications.
- Strong knowledge of microservices, resiliency, scalability, fault tolerance, observability, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, APIs, and event-driven architectures.
- Proven experience with JVM tuning, memory management, garbage collection, concurrency, profiling, diagnostics, production troubleshooting, and API performance optimization.
- Strong Oracle and PostgreSQL database expertise, including SQL tuning, execution plans, indexing, schema design, scalability, and monitoring.
- Experience with business-critical systems where performance, scalability, reliability, and availability are essential.
- Experience integrating enterprise applications with Snowflake and familiarity with data ingestion, ETL/ELT, and application connectivity.
- Experience deploying applications on public cloud platforms, preferably Google Cloud Platform.
- Understanding of distributed systems, caching, concurrency, and performance engineering principles.
- Preferred experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, RabbitMQ, observability platforms, SRE practices, infrastructure as code, data platforms, Python, Git, Jenkins, Maven, Gradle, and technical leadership.
- Preferred experience in Agile/Scrum environments and knowledge of architecture, algorithms, data structures, cloud automation, and responsible use of AI tools.
