Responsibilities
- Serve on customer projects involving design, architecture, integration, implementation, documentation, research, benchmarking, performance and functional testing, reference architectures, sizing, migration, development, and tooling.
- Provide consultative support for strategic users, customers, and prospects during implementation, onboarding, production launches, and proof-of-concepts.
- Deliver architectural, technical, and migration assistance, including hands-on engineering tasks.
- Handle L1-L3 support cases and communications when not assigned to larger customer projects.
- Partner with Product Management, Engineering, and Sales on product roadmap input and account plans.
- Create and support public and internal documentation, knowledge-base articles, learning content, reference architectures, blogs, and benchmark results.
- Assist with hiring and mentoring new team members.
- Participate in global scheduling and on-call coverage for 24x7 support, with up to 35% estimated onsite regional travel.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in Professional Services, Support, Technical Accounts Management, Engineering/SRE, and/or Project Management roles.
- At least 5 years of relevant industry experience implementing, operating, and/or supporting scalable, fault-tolerant, distributed database management systems.
- Technical breadth and depth across database management systems, OLAP, cloud/SaaS platforms, distributed systems software engineering, Linux/Unix, Kubernetes, system or network administration, and big data.
- Experience leading and shipping large-scope technical projects with multiple experienced engineers.
- Expertise with a public cloud provider such as AWS, GCP, or Azure and its infrastructure-as-a-service offerings.
- Experience with ClickHouse, open-source technologies, Azure, GCP, AWS, or data pipelines such as Kafka, Kinesis, Spark, or RabbitMQ is preferred.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate in a customer-facing role with Support Services, Engineering, and Sales teams.
