Responsibilities
- Lead complex, companywide technology initiatives and establish engineering standards and best practices.
- Design, code, test, debug, document, and review large-scale technology solutions.
- Establish and mature SRE and AIOps practices across Enterprise Functions Technology.
- Drive enterprise observability initiatives covering monitoring, logging, tracing, alerting, synthetic testing, and telemetry standards.
- Partner with engineering teams to design resilient cloud-native architectures and improve reliability across distributed services.
- Develop self-healing and autonomic capabilities using automation, Robotic Process Automation, and AI/ML.
- Automate SRE metrics and IT service operations processes, including availability, SLO/SLI adherence, error budgets, and recovery time.
- Support critical applications, lead high-priority incident resolution, conduct root cause analyses and blameless postmortems, and drive remediation.
- Mentor peer engineers, train engineering teams, and collaborate with application development and platform organizations.
- Lead projects, teams, or peer mentoring activities and support applications outside regular business hours as needed.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
- Prior experience driving SRE discipline and adoption across a portfolio.
- 5+ years working with configuration, CI/CD, and automation tools such as Ansible, Jenkins, GitLab, and Artifactory.
- 5+ years of Unix or Linux administration experience.
- 2+ years of design, implementation, and governance experience with AI, Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning architecture, or Generative AI.
- Experience with observability and monitoring technologies including Splunk, Elastic Stack/ELK, Grafana, AppDynamics, Prometheus, and Kafka.
- Experience with container technologies including Kubernetes, Docker, and PKS.
- Experience with Agile Scrum and Kanban.
- Proven expertise with Python or other object-oriented and scripting languages, automation, databases, operating systems, cloud platforms, and CI/CD tools.
- Experience applying AI, Generative AI, Machine Learning, or AIOps solutions in software engineering and production operations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and experience presenting to senior leadership.
- Ability to work in a hybrid office environment and support business needs outside regular business hours.
